History and Vision

in Jakarta as a “Perseroan Terbatas,” Merak Abadi Productions has built a reputation as one of Indonesia’s premier film production companies. Under the leadership of acclaimed actress Dewi Amanda, we have achieved significant milestones, including involvement in various fields such as film production, television, educational entertainment, talent agency services, and film distribution to countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the United Kingdom.

Dewi Amanda, our visionary founder and leader, guides the company with a clear objective: to elevate Indonesian cinema to the global stage. Under her leadership, Merak Abadi Productions not only acts as a prominent production house but also serves as a crucial link in the global distribution of Indonesian cinema.

Commitment to Global Distribution

One of our main commitments is to expand the global reach of Indonesian films. We work diligently to ensure that nearly all our productions can be enjoyed in cinemas around the world. Dewi Amanda stated, “Next year, we are dedicated to expanding our international footprint in distributing Indonesian films.” We target audiences aged 25 to 50 through various platforms, including cinemas, television, and streaming services like Netflix.

Upcoming Production Plans

Looking ahead, we are excited to produce 4-5 new horror and drama films specifically tailored for Indonesian audiences. While we remain focused on the horror genre, which is one of our strengths, we have also achieved notable success with three religious dramas currently dominating the box office. Dewi Amanda added, “While horror remains a primary focus, we have also garnered significant success with three religious dramas.”

Additionally, we continue to actively secure distribution rights for Indonesian horror films on international streaming platforms (OTT) and television networks. This is part of our effort to ensure that Indonesian cinema is not only recognized domestically but also reaches audiences worldwide.
